Abrasive base papers

Abrasive base papers

Ahlstrom's base papers for abrasive materials are used for many applications in the dry sanding area. Due to their high strength, they are perfectly suited for wide and narrow belts, discs and sheets for sanding of natural wood and wood panel products such as MDF or particle board.

Their finishing and waterproof base papers are suitable for direct coating with various types of bonding systems (alcyd-phenolic resin, PUR, phenol, Epoxy, Urea-Formaldehyde, etc) plus abrasive grain. They don't require pre-impregnation. In the automotive industry, abrasive materials can be used for different purposes like metal or lacquer sanding.
