Parker Automation announces the release of Parker CTC's HPC and HPX high-performance workstations. Now customers using PC equipment on the factory floor can take advantage of industrial PCs designed to run third-party factory software. Parker's new HPC PowerStations are available in 10", 15" and 17" panel-mount touchscreen systems, as well as a non-display version. Each has been designed and tested to perform under extreme conditions, and they run in Windows® on CompactFlash for even greater reliability.
"This product will be priced to compete with 'light duty' industrial workstations," said Jerry Koch, Parker CTC's Product Manager. "But this will be a truly factory-hardened and tested, NEMA 4- and 4X-rated product with the latest processor and media performance features found in the office PC marketplace."
Unlike office PCs, however, memory, product chipsets and firmware will be managed for product life cycles that support factory standardization. In other words, Parker won't change processors on a whim and cause problems for customers who have standardized hardware requirements.
For users wanting the full power of a Windows-based HMI software package to accompany their industrial PC, Parker is offering the HPX PowerStation, which comes bundled with CTC's award-winning InteractX. InteractX software runs in Windows on any office or industrial PC. Designed specifically for machine control and OEM needs -- particularly in reliability, ease of application and reduced long-term costs of ownership -- InteractX offers the most advanced graphics of any Windows product.
