Composting equipment is used to create compost, a dark, rich soil conditioner (humus) which is created through the biological reduction or organic material. Organic composting uses organic materials such as animal waste, food byproducts, municipal sludge, and animal carcasses which are placed in an environment with correct amounts of nitrogen, oxygen, and water. The organic composting process can be carried out in a composter and produces humus-like material which is rich in nutrients. There are many different types of composting equipment. Examples include compost bins,a compost tumbler, compost container, and compost turners. A compost bins, compost tumbler, and compost container are all used for storing stacks of scrap for forming compost. There are several types of compost bins such as a covered bridge organic hot bin, coated mesh wire bin, and earth engine double bin. A compost tumbler can produce compost in short amount of time and improves the quality of compost produced. Commercial composting equipment is used to create large amounts of compost, but it is a costly process. Other composting equipment is commonly available.

There are several ways in which Composting equipment function. Compost equipment stores scrap and forms it into compost. Some examples of compost bins specifications include size, capacity, weight, and use. A compost tumbler is capable of producing compost in just 21days because it allows the air to reach the bacteria that breaks down the waste. Compost turners are used at places where less than 10,000 tons of compost is produced per season. A composter is a type of compost equipment in which the temperature of the material reaches up to 150° F and thus produces large quantity of compost in less time. Composting equipment is designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
