Waste Remediation, Treatment and Recycling Equipment

Waste remediation equipment, waste treatment and waste recycling equipment is used to remediate, treat and recycle solid wastes. This product area includes mobile equipment such as motorized vehicles (e.g., trucks and front-end loaders) , as well as stationary and mobile compaction and incineration equipment. Waste remediation, treatment and recycling equipment is used in many solid waste management, recyclables collection, and hauling applications, as well as in the operation of industrial waste-processing facilities. These remediation, treatment and recycling facilities include compost facilities, construction and demolition landfills, material recovery facilities (MRF), municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills, transfer stations, and municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills. Waste remediation, treatment and recycling equipment for municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) is also available.

There are many different types of waste remediation equipment, waste treatment and waste recycling equipment. Waste remediation equipment is a broad category that includes air compressors, air sparging compressors, and blowers; air strippers and oil/water separators; granulated active carbon (GAC), fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), and steel carbon vessels; thermal oxidizers; environmental instruments and environmental monitoring equipment; and vapor extraction and dual-phase extraction equipment. Wastewater pumps may also be included in this category. Waste treatment equipment includes products such as filter presses, sludge dryers, clarifiers, scrubbers, spin dryers, pressure filters, and rectifiers. Recycling equipment includes auto-tie, closed end, open end, vertical or horizontal downstroke, and two-ram balers; as well as document shredders, paper shredders, and can crushers. Specialized waste remediation, treatment and recycling equipment is also available from many different suppliers.

Some waste remediation equipment, waste treatment and waste recycling equipment is used to process solid waste residues from municipal waste incineration. Air pollution control residues and bottom ash may contain dioxins and metals, however, posing an environmental risk. Melting, acid extraction, and cementitious stabilization and solidification are common treatment techniques. Operational costs, energy requirements, and process reliability are important considerations. Waste remediation, treatment and recycling equipment which melts solid-waste residues is more expensive to operate, but provides good dioxin removal and material recovery. Acid extraction is a less inexpensive method, but far less common. Cementitious stabilization and solidification is characterized by the ease of operation, but may increase the solid waste mass significantly.
