About Air Strippers
Air strippers are used to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and other contaminants from groundwater and wastewater. The Air stripping is a technology that uses an air stripper for VOC removal from ground water by increasing the surface area of the contaminated water that is exposed to air. Air stripping transfers large amounts of volatile contaminates from water to air. An air stripper modeler helps in selecting an air stripper for VOC cleaning applications. A low profile air stripper is used to remove VOC and other harmful contaminants from a stream of water by pumping them out through the air strippers. There are many different types of a low profile air stripper. Examples include an air stripper stack, groundwater stripper and a remediation tray air stripper. An air stripper stack consists of a series of internally molded trays that effectively removes 99% of the volatile compounds from groundwater. A groundwater stripper is used in the cleaning and treatment process of the ground water. A remediation tray air stripper uses forced draft and counter current air though horizontally extended trays. A remediation tray air stripper then sprays out contaminated water into an inlet chamber through a coarse mist spray nozzle. Other air strippers are commonly available.
There are several ways in which air strippers function. Air strippers are provided with 4 to 6 trays that have flow rates from 1-25 GPM to 1-250 GPM. An air stripper for VOC removal removes VOCs from liquids with a flow rate more than 750 liters/min. An air stripper modeler is provided with a run model button to select the quantity and contaminants to be removed. A low profile air stripper is compact and available with a hydraulic flow range of 1 to 300gpm with removal efficiency of about 99.99%. Some examples of air stripper stack specifications include a stack with 4 trays, 1-25GPM flow rate, and operation weight of 483lb. A groundwater stripper selects the chemicals to be used for cleaning. A remediation tray air stripper is provided with a 4.8mm diameter hole in the tray through which air is blown to form froth, which volatizes the contaminants. Air strippers are designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
