About Gas Cabinets and Distribution Systems

Gas cabinets and distribution systems consist of vaporizers, gas cabinets, gas manifolds, mass flow controllers, valves, pressure sensors and associated interconnect tubing configured to deliver bulk and specialty gases to process equipment. Gas cabinets and distribution systems are manufactured based upon the type and nature of the gas they will deliver. A gas distribution piping system must have high quality inner surfaces to ensure that there is no contamination of the gas by particles from the pipe.

Gas cabinets and distribution systems are used to pipe natural gas to fueling stations, fluid dynamic or thermodynamic applications, furnaces, medical applications, and manufacturing chambers that use specialty gases in the production process. Gas cabinets and distribution systems include piping systems constructed of copper or stainless steel for natural gas distribution. Gas piping systems must also function under various pressure conditions. Alternative energy resources include compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations where people can fuel special vehicles that run on compressed natural gas. These CNG fueling stations must be constructed of special cylinders, compressors, storage vessels, and pipes to store and deliver the compressed gas. Gas cabinets and distribution systems for fueling vehicles include large stations such as time-fill or cascade fast-fill installations, or small natural gas systems such as vehicle refueling appliances (VRAs). VRAs contain a compressor, pipes, and other components similar to a large scale gas cabinets and distribution systems, but instead can be hooked up to the low-pressure natural gas pipelines found in homes and businesses.
