About Torque Tubes and Torque Arms
Torque tubes and torque arms are used to assist workers position high-torque tools, such as industrial screwdrivers and nutrunners. Torque tubes and torque arms allow tools to be lifted, lowered, moved, and brought into the needed work position with a minimum amount of human effort. Torque tubes and torque arms are essential to absorb the torque reaction force of a manually or power operated torque tool. A torque tube or torque arm helps relieve the weight of the tool and the torque reaction on the tool operator so productivity and precision can be improved. Torque tubes and torque arms neutralize the effect of the torque reaction on the body and help prevent operator injuries, such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, thus lowering long-term injuries and health care costs. A torque tube can be mounted on an overhead rail, bridge, table, floor, crane, or moving platform. Torque tubes and torque arms can also be mounted at a variety of heights depending on the application. Torque arms can rotate to provide adjustable horizontal and vertical reach for an operator. Torque tubes and torque arms can be used be designed for a variety of assembly operations including major appliance and equipment assembly, engine and chassis assembly lines, and computer assembly procedures.
