About Photoelectric Safety Sensors
Photoelectric safety sensors detect objects by using the properties of light sensitive elements. They are an important aspect of automatic control engineering. There are several types of photoelectric safety sensors. Examples include direct reflection, reflection with reflector, polarized reflection with reflector, and reflection thru beam. A photoelectric sensor makes effective use of emitters and receivers to ascertain the presence, absence, or distance of target objects. Photoelectric safety sensors give protection similar to a safety light curtain, but without the shortcomings of a traditional light curtain product.
Photoelectric safety sensors function in a variety of ways. Photoelectric safety sensors differentiate between colors without being affected by changes in brightness, surrounding, temperature, or positioning of objects being sensed. A photoelectric safety sensor detects objects by using the properties of light sensitive elements. Photoelectric safety sensors consist of an emitter and a receiver, and use light sensitive elements to detect objects. A photoelectric proximity sensor detects the presence of an object without physical contact. The detector and sensor are housed together, and when the rays are reflected by the surface of target, the sensor detects it. Photoelectric safety sensors are used to control, inspect, detect, and in the automation of machine tools and manufacturing systems. The proximity sensor operates in five modes which are convergent, divergent, adjustable field, diffuse, and fixed-field modes. Photoelectric safety sensors are designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
