   Machine Type:
   Your choices are...

   Burn-off / Thermal Systems

Burn-off or thermal systems use heat to remove any grease, oil, paint or other organic compounds from the surfaces of parts.

   Degreasers

Degreasers use a solvent or vapor to clean and remove organic compounds and greases that are insoluble in water or aqueous systems.

   Fluidized Sand Beds

In fluidized bed systems, air is blown up through a porous bed or screen to suspend abrasive particles or sand thereby forming a fluidized bed.  Parts are inserted into the fluidized bed allowing the abrasive particles to clean the exposed surfaces.

   Immersion System

In immersion tank cleaning systems or scrub tanks, parts are immersed in a tank where the cleaning bath is agitated with impellers or paddles, or the parts are scrubbed manually.

   Immersion Systems - Ultrasonic

Ultrasonic cleaning systems use immersion tanks with the cleaning solution vibrated at ultrasonic frequencies. Transducers are usually immersible or physically coupled in order to transfer their vibratory energy to the cleaning solution.

   Spray Washers

Spray washers use pressure washing or rinsing capabilities to direct a stream of water or a water / detergent mixture at high pressure to clean or remove surface debris (scale, rust, paint, dirt, grease, abrasive dust).  Multiple jets with rotating heads are often used to cover a wider area as the surface is traversed or as parts are conveyed through the system.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary machine type.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
System Options / Component Types

   System Options / Component Types:
   Your choices are...

   Cabinets / Enclosures

Cabinets are glovebox-like vessels that hold the workpiece and the parts during manual pressure spray parts washing process.  Cabinets usually consist of a chamber with glove ports, viewing window and internal lighting.  The workpieces rest on an open grid that allows used cleaning solution to drop through for recycling or disposal.

   Heaters

Gas, electric or steam-heater components or subsystems are used to raise the temperature of the cleaning solution to improve performance.

   Separators / Filtration Systems

Products include subsystems for the separation, filtration and/or collection of oil, debris, metal chips, abrasive media, scale, dust, fine swarf or other waste removed during the cleaning process. The collection system can facilitate the recirculation or disposal of wash solutions or solvents.

   Pumps

A pump or pressure generator increases the pressure of the cleaning solution or water. Crankshaft-driven plunger pumps are often used to generate high-pressure water pressure for spray-parts washing or rinsing.

   Scrubbers / Brushes

Parts cleaners include integral scrubber or rotary brushes.

   Spinning Spray Arms

Products use a spinning spray arm to better expose surfaces to the cleaning spray.

   Tanks / Tubs

A washtub, scrub tank or sump tank contains the water, solvent or cleaning solution. Parts are directly immersed in wash tanks. Sump tanks are used to catch cleaning solution that has been sprayed over parts.

   Vibrator / Agitator (Mechanical)

Mechanical vibrators or agitators produce a vibration or mixing action in the cleaning solution or bath to enhance the cleaning process.

   Ultrasonic Transducers

Ultrasonic transducers impart vibrations at very high frequencies resulting in improved cleaning over mechanical agitation.

   Ultrasonic Generators

Ultrasonic generators provide a power source for energizing ultrasonic transducers.

   Water Softeners / Treaters

Water softeners, deionizers or treaters purify water for process cleaning applications. Minerals, particulates or other contaminants are removed.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary component.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Cleaning Process / Operation

   Your choices are...

   Hot Water Cleaning

The machine uses a heated water supply or steam to enhance cleaning and surface preparation operations.

   Solvent / Vapor Cleaning

The machine uses solvent or solvent vapors to clean and prepare surfaces of parts. In solvent vapor degreasers, the solvent is evaporated and then condensed on the parts surface.  The condensed solvent cleans the parts and drips back down into the tank for reclamation or disposal.

   Aqueous Cleaning

The machine uses water or a water based cleaning solution to clean and prepare surfaces of parts.

   Bioremediation System

Bioremediation systems or cleaners contain active microorganisms and surfactants.  Bioremediation is a natural, "green" cleaning process which uses microorganisms to convert oil, grease or other organic waste from contaminated cleaning-process water into environmentally-armless byproducts. The surfactant constituents in the bioremediation cleaning system clean the parts. The microorganisms or enzymes from the microbes digest and break down the removed oil or grease into benign water and carbon dioxide molecules. The type of organic waste or contaminants determines the specific microrganisms that are selected. ATCC Class 1 microbes are sometimes chosen because they are harmless to humans. American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) is a global bioscience organization.

Strongly caustic or high-alkaline aqueous cleaners are effective in removing grease and oil from parts; however, because these cleaners are very corrosive, special care must be taken to protect workers and equipment. Solvent-based cleaners are also very effective for degreasing applications, but solvents can have low flash points and require environmental permitting. Special care must be taken to protect against sparks or open flame that could cause a fire or explosion of the solvent vapors. Permits may require that measures are taken to recover or minimize the released fugitive solvent vapors. Bioremediation cleaners provide safety and environmental benefits over these solvent or aqueous-based systems. For example, there are no volatile organic compounds (VOC) to contain with these non-flammable cleaning solutions. Bioremediation cleaners are also pH neutral and non-WHMIS controlled. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIS) is a Canadian system for identifying hazardous materials.

   Abrasive Enhanced

The abrasive particles are sucked into the gun, nozzle or lance through a Venturi generation process. Venturi generators use a fast moving stream to create a vacuum that pulls materials into the steam.

   Acid Cleaning / Pickling

Pickling uses an acid solution to clean or remove rust, scale or oxides that even an aggressive cleaning detergent cannot attack.

   Alkaline Cleaning

Alkaline cleaners use a basic solution to clean or remove grease, oil, rust, scale or oxides that even an aggressive cleaning detergent cannot attack.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary cleaning process.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.

Systems designed for cleaning the interior and/or exterior surfaces of plastic containers or glass bottles.

   Degreasing

Degreasers or other parts cleaners suited for degreasing applications.

   Descaling / Stripping

Descaling is the removal of heat-treat scale, surface discoloration, oxides, rust, weld scale or corrosion that ruins appearance and interferes with welding, painting, plating, coating, drawing and other processes. Stripping is the removal of an existing protective coating or paint layer to facilitate welding, recoating or adhesive joining.
