Sensing Types

   Your choices are...

   Mechanical

A mechanical collision sensor is a spring-loaded device that automatically trips its control when a vertical or lateral force is applied. Typically they activate when they come in contact with an obstruction.

   Pneumatic

A pneumatic collision sensor is a pneumatically actuated device that automatically trips its control when a vertical or lateral force is applied. Typically they activate when they come in contact with an obstruction.

   Mechanical and Pneumatic

A mechanical and pneumatic collision sensor is a mechanical sensing device that uses pneumatics for dynamic compliance. This is usually configured as a combination of springs and regulated air.

   Noncontact / Collision Avoidance

A sensor that acts like a compliance device and helps the robot avoid damaging impacts. In robotic applications this is an emerging technology.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary sensors.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Specifications

   Angular Compliance (+ / -)

Angular compliance is the distance in degrees from vertical the sensor will allow before signaling the control to shut off.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Rotary or Torsional Compliance (+ / -)

Rotary compliance is the distance in degrees about a point the sensor will allow before signaling the control to shut off.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Axial Compliance

Axial compliance is vertical displacement, positive or negative, in inches or millimeters, the sensor will allow before signaling the control to shut off.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Repeatability

The ability of the robot to reset to a safe position and get to that same position consistently.

Search Logic:      All matching products will have a value less than or equal to the specified value.
   Pre-trip Compliance

This is an adjustable compliance setting where the user determines what is the allowable deflection.

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
Emergency Reset Switch

   Your choices are...

   Normally Open Switch

The sensor output has a switch that is normally open. It closes upon activation.

   Normally Closed Switch

The sensor output has a switch that is normally closed. It opens upon activation.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized or proprietary emergency reset methods.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Features and Options

   Your choices are...

   Auto Reset

Auto reset is the ability of the machine to self-reset power after a collision.

   Adjustable Breakaway Setting

Adjustable breakaway is a combination of adjustable air regulators and springs forces that are used to reset the control after a collision.

   Dynamic Variable Trip Point

Dynamic variability is the force, moment and torque resistance that can be set by the user.

   Center Through Hole

Center through hole allows for cabling to run through the sensor instead of outside and around it.

   Dust Bellows

Dust bellows are used to protect the sensor collar in applications where there are contaminants such as dust, spray paint and moisture.

   Field Repairable

Field repairable means that the sensor can be fixed on site instead of having to ship it to the manufacturer for repair.

   Interface Plates

Interface plates allow the collision sensor to be mounted on different brands of robots.

   Sensor Shield

A debris shield protects the collision sensor in harsh machining operations.

   Quick Disconnect

Robot tool changers come in two types - hardwired and quick disconnect. Quick disconnect reduces the time needed to change from one configuration to another.

   Other

Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary features or options.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
