   Monel®

Monel® alloy has high strength and resistance to a range of corrosive media including seawater, hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids, and alkalis.  Monel is a registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation.

   Nickel

Will vary per application, as nickel is a constituent of many alloys.

   Sapphire

Sapphire is a precious gemstone (a type of corundum) that ranges in color from blue to pink to yellow to green to white to purple (mauve sapphire) to pink-orange (padparadscha sapphire). Sapphire has a hardness of 9 and a specific gravity of 3.9 - 4.1. Sapphires are often heat treated to improve their color.

   Your choices are...

   Biological

The orifice is designed for use in biological instrumentation applications.

   Burners

The orifice is designed for use in a burner.  Most atmospheric burners have a gas orifice that is accurately fixed in the burner throat providing air inspiration. The hole in the orifice is necessarily small to provide the correct gas flow and to provide sufficient velocity to ensure there is suction available for the correct air inspiration.

The orifice is designed for use in EDM wire guides.

   Flow Measurement

The orifice is used for flow measurement applications including flow meters.

   Ink Jet Printing

The orifice is used in ink jet printing applications. Current ink jet print heads utilize 20-micron diameter orifices and printer manufacturers are in the process of reducing that to 10 micron.
