Controller Type

   Control Technique
   Your choices are...

   Limit / Set Point Control

Limit control establishes set points or limits that, when reached, send a signal to stop or start a process variable. This "off-on" or "bang-bang" control is a fairly simple type of control.

   Linear Control

Linear control matches a variable input signal with a correspondingly variable control signal. Signal conditioning, filtering, and amplification may occur to produce the proper output control signal.

   Feedforward Control

Feedforward control is direct control compensation from the reference signal. This technique does not require a sensor. It may be open-loop or used in conjunction with more advanced PID control.

   PID Control

Proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) control requires real-time system feedback. PID is a sophisticated control technique which monitors the error between a desired variable value and the actual value, and adjusts the control accordingly (proportional). Derivative and integral features can provide further control refinement by incorporating variables like rate-of-change of error to tune the control signal. Though sophisticated, PID controls must be tuned to prevent noisy operation and provide accurate process control.

   Fuzzy Logic

Fuzzy logic is a type of logic in which variables can have imprecise values (as in partial truth) rather than a binary status (completely true or completely false). Information and rules can be inexact, and calculations can be made on these imprecise values.

   Advanced / Nonlinear Control

Advanced or nonlinear controls include unlisted control algorithms such as neural networking, adaptive gain, or emerging algorithms.

   Other

Other unlisted or specialized control algorithms or techniques.

   PLC Controller

The device is a programmable logic controller (PLC).

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   PC-Based Controller

The controller is a circuit board that can be installed directly in a personal computer (PC).

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   Multi-Function Controller

The controller has multiple control modes or functions, which may or may not use different inputs and outputs. Different parameters or machines may be controlled by the same unit.

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   Accuracy

Accuracy signifies the closeness of the data to a specified target value.

Search Logic:      All matching products will have a value less than or equal to the specified value.

   Flow Controller

Flow controllers monitor and regulate flow values of liquids and/or solids in process, manufacturing, or scientific applications. This includes many different types of flow measurement technologies.

   Laboratory Controller

Laboratory controllers are designed specifically to monitor and/or control variables involved in laboratory or scientific experimentation, testing, or sample preparation. These devices often control temperature, and may also control other variables.

   Mix / Blending Controller

Mix or blending controllers governs the ratio, mix, or blending parameters of two or more ingredients of a process. They may control gas quantities, air quantities, or both.
