 Mettler-Toledo Thornton, a pioneer in the measurement of conductivity in ultrapure water, develops and manufactures instrumentation and sensors used for liquid process measurement and control. Thornton’s strength is its focus on technology and its personnel, who have written numerous technical papers, contributed to international standards and have been awarded numerous patents.
Thornton specializes in pure and ultrapure water systems with measurements of resistivity/conductivity, dissolved oxygen, ozone, flow, pressure, pH, ORP, temperature, and TOC (total organic carbon).

One of Thornton's newest innovations is the 5000TOC Total Organic Carbon sensor (pictured above). When connected to Thornton's flagship 770MAX multiparameter instrument, the 5000TOC sensor offers low detection limits with fast, continuous monitoring. This sensor makes the 770MAX the first on-line transmitter to offer MULTIPLE TOC and conductivity measurements on a user-configurable multiparameter instrument platform.  Smart sensor technology makes installation and startup fast and simple.
Thornton, the recognized leader in the measurement of high purity resistivity and conductivity, works closely with several international organizations in establishing standards in the fields where its products are used. Thornton instruments meet, UL and CE requirements and bear the UL and CE marks.
